Our round md-textil leather patch with the symbol “Valknut” is a very popular symbol and also one of the most famous motifs in Norse mythology. It is a motif of Germanic origin, also called Wotan's knot in German. The Valknut was always mentioned in connection with battle and death. The Valknut leather patch is a patch made of high-quality and well-selected cowhide. The patch has a diameter of 80mm and is therefore ideal for attaching to clothing or the like. The patch is attached with VELCRO® Brand Hook® on the back. You can also choose between two colors. The two color variants brown and natural go wonderfully with the symbol Valknut as well as with every carrier piece and can therefore be used universally. The symbol of the Valknuts was laser-engraved with high quality and is therefore characterized by a high quality.

The meaning of the Valknut symbol

Even if the exact meaning of the Valknut symbol could never be fully clarified, some possible solutions are circulating. It can therefore either contain three intertwined triangles or one intertwined polygon. The Germanic symbol of the Valknuts is often referred to in German as the Wotan's knot. This would then be associated with “Wotan” and translated means “knot of the fallen in battle”. The origin of the word Valknut lies in the Germanic word “Valknute”. It is made up of “valr”, which means something like knight slain in a fight, and “knut” that means “knot”. The meanings of the symbol are therefore varied and even today not conclusively clarified.
